How I Met Your Mother actor Nick Pasqual guilty in violent attack case

was found guilty on May 8 of attempted murder in a case stemming from a May 2024 attack at the Shadow Hills home of Hollywood makeup artist . The jury also convicted the 36-year-old actor of injuring a spouse or partner, first-degree burglary and rape.

Prosecutors said Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s home and stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene. He was later detained at a border checkpoint in Texas between the United States and Mexico in May 2024.

The verdict came after a jury trial and closed a case that began with serious domestic violence allegations and a string of accusations stretching back months. Pasqual had pleaded not guilty to the charges, which included one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree residential burglary with person present and one count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child's parent.

Shehorn filed a restraining order against Pasqual on May 20, accusing him in that request of raping and choking her in April 2024 and hitting her with a belt in January 2024. Prosecutors said the May attack followed that history of abuse, and Los Angeles County District Attorney said his office’s would support Shehorn as she works through the physical and emotional trauma.

Gascón called the episode a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence and said his office would ensure the person responsible is held accountable. Pasqual could face a maximum sentence of life in state prison when he is sentenced on June 2.
