Ohio State football brought back its all-black “Tunnel Vision” uniforms on May 11, unveiling an updated version that will be worn during the 2026 season. The look features a silver flake finish on the helmet and metallic silver Buckeye Stripe sleeves.
The reveal gives the Buckeyes a familiar alternate look with a strong recent track record. Ohio State has worn the black uniforms four times and won each game, including a 52-21 victory against Wisconsin in 2022. The previous wins came against Penn State in 2015, Nebraska in 2018 and Michigan State in 2019.
Ohio State first used an alternate jersey in 2009 against Michigan, winning 21-10, and has used alternate uniforms at least since then. The school said themed games for the 2026 season will be announced later, and noted that uniform choices are made on a game-by-game basis.
The Buckeyes have not worn alternate uniforms since 2024, when they used all-white uniforms on the road against Oregon and all-grey uniforms at home against Iowa. The return of the black set brings back one of the program’s most recognizable modern looks, and it now sits in line for another run next season.
