Prime Video announced on Monday that it has renewed Reacher for a fifth season, moving the action drama forward before Season 4 has even reached viewers. The early pick-up comes ahead of the next season's expected premiere later in 2026.
The streamer said the decision reflects the show's continued success and global appeal. Reacher has grown into one of Prime Video's signature dramas, and the fifth season order extends that run before Season 4, based on Lee Child's 13th Jack Reacher novel, Gone Tomorrow, arrives.
Peter Friedlander said the series has become a true powerhouse franchise, pointing to the way it combines high-octane action with character-driven storytelling. He said it continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world, and added that the company is eager to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season Four's debut.
That momentum has been building behind the scenes for months. Production on Season 4 wrapped in March 2026, and the new chapter will bring in eight new cast members: Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Roberston.
Reacher is adapted from Lee Child's bestselling Jack Reacher novels and follows the drifter played by Alan Ritchson as he travels the country and repeatedly lands in dangerous situations. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, with Nick Santora writing for television and serving as showrunner.
The early renewal leaves little doubt about where Prime Video sees the franchise going next: the platform is treating Reacher less like a returning series and more like a long-term centerpiece, with the fifth season now secured before the fourth has even aired.
