CBS has renewed FBI for another season, keeping the long-running crime drama on the air after eight years and extending one of the network’s most reliable performers. The decision came as CBS finalized which shows will return for fall 2026 or spring 2027.
FBI follows the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the procedural has remained one of CBS’s most popular shows throughout its run. The renewal means viewers will get another chapter in the series that has built a loyal fanbase over eight years.
The move also comes alongside more franchise growth. CIA, a spin-off from the FBI television franchise created by Dick Wolf, premiered in February 2026 and got a second-season renewal in March 2026. The show centers on a fast-talking, rule-breaking CIA case officer played by Tom Ellis and a by-the-book FBI agent played by Nick Gehlfuss.
That contrast has helped the broader franchise keep momentum, and CBS is clearly betting that appetite will continue. With FBI secured for another season, the network is leaving little doubt that the brand remains central to its schedule.
