Xbox Game Pass Discord Nitro deal adds starter plan to Nitro

and announced a new partnership on Monday that gives subscribers a pared-down version of at no extra cost. Beginning Monday, Nitro members get a starter edition of Game Pass that includes more than 50 Xbox and PC games to download and play, plus 10 hours of cloud gaming streaming every month.

The games available through the starter edition include DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, Fallout 4, Grounded, Overcooked 2 and Stardew Valley. Discord said the Nitro membership is still priced at $10 a month, or $100 for a year, and that Game Pass is now part of it. For subscribers, the pitch is simple: keep the same premium Discord account and get a gaming perk folded in with it.

That matters because Nitro is already Discord’s paid tier, with features such as custom per-server profiles, larger file uploads and custom emojis, on a platform long favored by gamers. Discord has also been integrated into PlayStation and Xbox ecosystems in recent years, making Monday’s deal feel less like a surprise than another step in a slow blending of chat and console services.

The new offer also lands in the middle of a messy year for Xbox and Game Pass. Game Pass got cheaper in 2026, but it also stopped adding future Call of Duty titles on launch day, a change that drew a strong user reaction. , posting on X, said, “Game Pass Ultimate has become too expensive for too many players.”

Discord has had its own turbulence this year. In February, the company announced a controversial age-verification plan, then later in 2026 said it would delay the changes. Against that backdrop, bundling Game Pass into Nitro looks like an effort to make the subscription feel richer without raising its price, while also giving Xbox a way to keep Game Pass in front of players who may already spend their time on Discord.

The key question now is not whether the bundle exists — it does — but whether enough subscribers see the starter edition as a meaningful reason to keep paying for Nitro. For now, Xbox and Discord have answered the immediate problem with a straightforward offer: the same Discord price, plus Game Pass.
