Montreal orange line service returns to normal after rush-hour delay

Service on Montreal’s orange line returned to normal after an interruption during the morning rush hour between Côte-Vertu and Du Collège stations.

The disruption, reported in a live transit update from , was caused by a problem with signaling equipment. The interruption affected the segment of the line between the two stations, leaving commuters with slower or halted service before trains began running normally again.

Transit problems on the metro can ripple quickly through the city’s busiest hours, and this one landed in the middle of the morning commute, when delays are hardest to absorb. The update also came as Montreal has been in the news for other civic pressure points, including homelessness, the REM, potholes and metro ridership, but this service issue was a separate and short-lived interruption.

By the time service resumed, the immediate question had been answered: the orange line was back in operation, and riders could again move through the Côte-Vertu and Du Collège stretch without the signaling problem that had slowed the line earlier in the day.
