Dianne Buswell has shared an emotional home update as she prepares to present the BAFTAs, showing herself in son Bowden's bedroom sorting through clothes he has already outgrown. The 37-year-old posted the video to her YouTube channel, which has 298,000 subscribers, and said many of his baby clothes no longer fit only months after he was born in March with Joe Sugg.
Buswell said people had warned her that newborn clothes would last only a couple of weeks, but she admitted she did not believe it at first. Now she is boxing up the outfits that still look good enough to donate to a nearby shelter that can pass baby items on to someone in need. The dance star said she had even found the tiny hospital outfit Bowden wore home, adding that his long legs would not fit into it now and that it would go into his “little special pile.” “Makes me sad,” she said.
The update landed just as Buswell was marking a different milestone, her first birthday as a mumma. In a separate Instagram message, she said she had not been able to spend a birthday with her parents in more than 12 years and thanked Joe for making the day special in every way. “Today was magical,” she wrote, calling herself extremely grateful and thanking everyone who sent birthday wishes.
Buswell’s posts show how quickly life has changed since March, when she and Sugg welcomed Bowden into the world. They also underline the practical side of early parenthood: one day it is tiny clothes and hospital outfits, the next it is sorting what can be passed on, stored away or kept forever. Ahead of her BAFTA presenting role, the former Strictly winner’s update is less about glamour than the speed at which a baby’s first months disappear.
