Italian football is back in the spotlight after reports said controversial businessman Fabrizio Corona allegedly leaked sensitive footage involving several current and former AC Milan players, including Theo Hernandez. The material is said to show footballers at private gatherings where nitrous oxide was being used alongside luxury models and guests.
Hernandez is one of the names drawing the most attention because reports from Milan Matters said he may have played a major role in organizing some of the gatherings and may have helped secure transportation for guests and models. Other players named in connection with the reports include Samu Castillejo, Rafael Leao, Hakan Calhanoglu, Gianluigi Donnarumma and former Milan icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but none of them has been formally accused of criminal wrongdoing.
The viral clips reportedly show players singing the UEFA Champions League anthem while socializing, a detail that has only deepened the scrutiny around the footage. The latest reports come as prosecutors in Milan continue a separate investigation into Ma.De. Milano, a luxury concierge agency accused of operating as a front for a high-end escort network.
Authorities arrested agency owners Emanuele Buttini and Deborah Ronchi earlier this year on allegations related to criminal association and the exploitation of prostitution. Investigators believe the organization may have coordinated services for wealthy businessmen and dozens of Serie A players connected to AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan.
Prosecutors have stressed that attending private gatherings or parties is not itself a criminal offense under Italian law. Their focus is on what may have happened behind closed doors, including whether illegal activity took place and whether organized exploitation was involved. One wiretap reportedly referenced a pregnancy scare involving a well-known footballer, while another allegedly included discussions about arranging paid girlfriends for athletes attending events.
Another detail in the case points to the same world of luxury and excess: a woman staying in a hotel room with a footballer allegedly requested balloons, a slang reference to nitrous oxide canisters commonly used recreationally. For Hernandez and the other players named in the reports, the immediate damage is reputational, but the deeper significance lies in how quickly a private social scene has become part of a larger criminal inquiry in Milan.
