is expecting her third baby with husband , sharing the news in a Mother’s Day post on May 10 that put the former U.S. soccer star’s growing family back in the spotlight. In the post, Morgan wrote that Mother’s Day felt “extra special this year” and added, “Excited to welcome baby #3 this Fall.”

The video that accompanied the announcement showed Morgan, Carrasco, Charlie and Enzo walking on the beach, before she turned to reveal her baby bump. The clip ended with Morgan and Carrasco sharing a kiss and then hugging their children at sunset. The commented, “Charlie and Enzo will be the best siblings.”

For Morgan, 36, the announcement adds another chapter to a family that has grown alongside her soccer career. Morgan and Carrasco married in 2014 and already share two children, Charlie, 6, and Enzo, 14 months. The pregnancy news comes after she retired from professional soccer in 2024, when she said she felt she was leaving women’s soccer in “an amazing place” after helping the to two FIFA World Cups across a 14-year career.

That retirement came while Morgan was pregnant with her second baby, a detail that underscored the way her public life has often mixed elite sport with motherhood. In a 2025 interview with , she said continuing to play after welcoming Charlie in 2020 mattered to her as a trailblazer for other women athletes. Morgan said, “It was basically a blank slate—which gave me the opportunity to make an impact and push for change,” and added that she thought about “the athletes who had kids before me with even less support.”

Her comments also pointed to the larger barriers facing mothers in sports. Morgan said, “You spend your life thinking you live in such an advanced country, with resources and opportunities to help people go after their dreams, but moms face so many barriers that make it harder to do both.” She said she wanted teammates without children to understand the need to advocate “for me, for other moms on the team, for future moms.”

The response to the pregnancy announcement was immediate, with congratulations from , and among the comments. Morgan’s latest post does not change the legacy she left on the field, but it does mark the next phase of a life she has spent balancing family, visibility and a long campaign for women athletes to have more room to do both.
